Lovin'

Our 1st zucchini

These days I'm lovin' us being able to eat food we actually grew ourselves. This was our first garden, Phoenix was always too hot. We've had so much fun planting, weeding and watching everything bloom. These days I see a rabbit in my garden every single time I go into it. It's really hard for me to get upset. I figure if there's anything left over, we'll take it! Today I had the pleasure of eating a salad where I had grown everything in it. The lettuce, tomatoes, and the cucumber. I must say... It was simple but the best salad ever!

This garden has been really therapeutic for me. I think I'm learning patience and stillness. Each day I go into my garden and just stand, no movement. I think how I am so blessed. I am lucky enough to own my own home where I have a yard I can grow my own food. I look at the trees, and the new vegetables growing, my dogs always close by and curious why I get to go into this spot they are kept out of and I thank God for everything I have.

How lucky am I....

Your garden is growing on your love, gratitude, and blessings. No wonder you have such a beautiful zucchini.

I have a purple thumb. Can't keep plants alive indoors or out. However, I love the local organic produce from the farmer's market or the local organic grocery store. Amazing what happens when we eat food that is alive...that has prana!

Wanda,

I totally think I have a purple thumb as well. When I lived in Arizona I couldn't keep anything alive. This garden was something I thought for sure wouldn't make it but thought I've got the yard why not try it. I'm amazed at how well it's doing. I think all the rain here helps.

I too love to eat organic foods. We have this wonderful (or so I hear) farmer's market each Thursday downtown. Tomorrow I'm going to go check it out for the first time and I can't wait.

By the way.... your comment got me thinking... I wonder if my graditude didn't help... a friend of mine (read:life coach as well) wrote yesterday about how what we feel inside might be contagious. Like if you are in a bad mood at work and grumpy everyone around gets grumpy. Maybe gratitude is the same way. I stand in my garden and talk to it, that's right talk to it. I also thank God every time I am in it for all my blessings. Maybe my vegetalbes are God's graditude back to me.

Tine,

these yummy veggies are one of my favorites as well. Connie grills them with garlic olive oil and I just melt they are so delicious.

SO far only one has grown but we have a lot of flowers so I hope to have some more soon.

Tine,

Yet another thing that makes us so alike... sometimes I swear we are sisters from another life.
