Studio Friday's Prize Possession

I've missed the past two studio Fridays from dealing with the death of my cat. I am back now, I've missed taking part each week.
This week we were asked to show our "Prize Possessions." Immediately when I read this I knew what to photograph. These are my grandmother's cats.
My grandmother passed away four years ago. These cats are what was left of her collection of over 2,000 cat pieces. My grandmother had Alzheimers and when she got really sick she sold or broke most of the pieces she had been collecting over her entire life span. When my grandfather passed away a year later my Dad and I found these last pieces. We thought they were all gone. My Dad gave them to me and I've treasured them every since.
I keep these cats in my studio to remind myself of my family.

Have you heard that Friday is cat day on blog sites? Or did I make it up? No, I know someone told me. Just didn't know if you had heard it. So what's Studio Friday?
Love the cats...all cats.

Funny. How your prized possession also pays tribute to the pet you just lost. I am sorry about that and know how hard it is. I have been through it too many times. Once is too many times. But what a great reminder of both your grandmother and cat. And what a visual treat!
Just so many beautiful cats you have Jenn. My Early cat here send loud meows along to you and Connie!!
We are thinking of you.
WOW,
Thanks everyone for visiting... it's always nice to see.

Tine,
Kiss Early for me. Tell him to send sweet cat love to our other cat Moulder. She's been so upset since Scully passed. I hate her being so lonely.
jannybean....

Great that you have these cats around you as a reminder of your grandmother and your family. Also my heart goes out to you... loosing a pet is terrible. I have lost a few over the years. I wish you all the best.

Oh Jenn, what a great tribute to 2 great loves. The capacity to love goes hand in hand with the capacity to hurt. I can tell that you loved with a whole heart. Blessings to you as you mourn -joy comes in the morning! Your collection is precious...in many ways. I'm glad you're the guardian of those treasures.
thank you everyone for the great prayers and thoughts....
I love them all!
